// Anexx Carrillo Church
The annex of the Playa Carrillo church is a social project that arises from the community’s effort to build a rectory that will allow priests to stay for as long as they need without having to travel. The program consists of a kitchen and dining area, a bedroom, and a bathroom on the first level. On the second level, there are three more bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
The design is based on the modulation of materials and a bioclimatic study to ensure comfort in the interior spaces. Some of the strategies used include the use of a completely open central hallway to aid in ventilation, large eaves, and the extension of a multi-layer façade that allows shading of the interior spaces.
