// Joshodo House

The project is located in Esterones, a town near Playa Sámara. It is a two-level house with a total of 150m2. On the site there are two predominant views, to the southwest the sea can be appreciated and to the east there is a wooded area with a view of the valley. Given this condition and the project program, a floor plan of two overlapping rectangles is proposed; one for the social area with a private character and another for the social area that opens to its surroundings to create a direct relationship with the surrounding nature.

A steel structure is used and the spaces of the project are modular with the dimensions of the materials available in the area to facilitate transportation and reduce waste. For the enclosures, local teak wood and micro-perforated sheets are used along with screens to allow for one-sided ventilation. In this way, the breeze is taken advantage of to make the spaces comfortable.
